Program Overview:

In this program, an expert faculty will discuss the evidence and recommendations for managing LDL-C in patients with ASCVD, familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), diabetes, and those at increased cardiovascular risk without ASCVD.

Educational Objectives: 
Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify statin-benefit groups and explain the importance of using highintensity statin therapy in appropriate patients.
  • Discuss the relationship between achieved LDL-C, major cardiovascular outcomes, and safety at very low LDL-C levels.
  • Interpret the evidence from cardiovascular outcome trials with PCSK9 inhibitors and ezetimibe.
  • Recognize primary and secondary prevention patient populations for consideration of non-statin therapy.
  • Indicate guideline recommendations for lowering LDL-C and reducing cardiovascular risk.
