In this symposium, current management of arrhythmias in patients with ischemic heart disease will be reviewed, with emphasis on benefit/risk to the patient, and unmet needs for development of new therapies. In addition, recent data with new pharmacologic approaches will be described, with discussion about their potential utility in patients with ischemic heart disease and different types of arrhythmia.
