Program Overview:

In this program, pediatric sleep disorder experts Dr. Kiran Maski and Dr. Merrill Wise will describe strategies to overcome barriers in diagnosing narcolepsy in children, and explain best practices in treatment including emerging evidence with pharmacologic therapy.

Educational Objectives: 
Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Recognize atypical presentations of cataplexy in children and identify comorbidities associated with narcolepsy.
  • Describe best practices for making a diagnosis of narcolepsy in children.
  • Implement and facilitate nonpharmacologic strategies to improve quality of life and reduce complications for children with narcolepsy.
  • Interpret emerging data for the treatment of narcolepsy in pediatric patients.
